Zoë Gagnon-Kiefl grew up in Montreal, Québec, where she began recording herself and playing shows. Her curiosity for music composition was sparked after living with an RnB singer in New York and after meeting a noise musician at the Jean-Talon market in Montreal. Zoë spent invaluable time with these two individuals who taught her a lot about their practice and whom she regarded as mentors. She began combining elements of RnB vocals and electronic music together to create her sound. In 2013, she self-released the 6 track EP, Good Faith, leading up to Young Mom. A compilation of songs that show her eclectic musical background, drawing inspiration from cinematography and film scores, dance music, nostalgia and psychedelia. The album is dedicated to her mother who is illustrated on the cover as a young mother-to-be in Ottawa, 1986.
